What is the Fox ESS Cloud?

Well, it’s like the control centre for the FoxESS energy storage systems, conveniently available as an app for our customers to keep tabs on their solar setups.

What does the Fox ESS Cloud tell us about our impact in Yorkshire?

Thanks to Fox ESS Cloud, we’ve been able to crunch some serious data on our installations right here in Yorkshire. We’ve installed around 600 solar systems in the region, generating over 2.7 GWh of electricity. That’s equivalent to brewing up 1.5 million mugs of Yorkshire tea.

But here’s where it gets really exciting, according to our calculations in-house and using the UK’s Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy figure of 0.20707 kg CO2 as the amount saved by each carbon-free kWh of energy, these installations have saved a staggering 559,089 kgs of CO2. Yup, you read that right—over half a million kgs of CO2.

Now, we know big numbers can be a bit tricky to wrap your head around, so let’s break it down: 560 tonnes of CO2 is like grounding 224 transatlantic flights or powering over 200 homes in the UK for an entire year.

To balance out that much CO2, we’d need to plant and care for nearly 15,000 mature trees. That’s like covering York’s walled historic centre one and a half times with lush greenery.

But the impact doesn’t stop there, in addition to being better for the environment, our installations have also saved our customers a whopping £750,000 in electricity costs. That’s over £1,300 in savings for every home with a Fox ESS system installed.
