Newark Acquisition for Green Building Renewables
We’ve grown again with a new addition in Newark, Nottinghamshire.
Our strategy to grow our nationwide presence with the acquisition of respected and reputable renewables installers continues with the addition of Newark-based JL Philips Renewable Energy Ltd to our family.
We’re proud to announce that this acquisition furthers our expansion into Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire. This latest addition increases our turnover to an impressive £42 million, keeping us on track to achieve our ambitious £100 million turnover target by the end of 2025.
Since our inception in 2021, Green Building Renewables has seen dramatic growth, with our turnover increasing from £3 million to over £40 million. Our success is underpinned by our commitment to providing cutting-edge renewable and low carbon technology solutions including air and ground source heat pumps, underfloor heating, solar PV, EV charging, and battery storage. Through our network of local energy experts, we aim to ensure that customers receive personalised service tailored to their unique needs.
The acquisition of JL Phillips Renewable Energy Ltd bolsters our presence in Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire but also aligns with our overarching goal of becoming the largest installer of domestic renewable technology in the UK by 2025.
Chris Delaney, Managing Director of Green Building Renewables and recent recipient of the Yorkshire Business Desk’s Leader of the Year award, highlighted the significance of the expansion, stating, “JL Phillips is our eleventh acquisition and it demonstrates our commitment to continually investing in renewables and low carbon technology across the country as we aim to build the largest renewable installation company in the UK.”
Jason Phillips, managing director of Newark-based JL Phillips, added: “Our team is excited about joining Green Building Renewables’ nationwide network of renewable energy experts.
“The model Chris and his team are building to offer local installers across the country is important.
“It ensures customers get the best local service they can from installers who know their area and understand their needs.”
Our expansion efforts are not solely focused on business growth but also on nurturing the renewable workforce of the future. Recognising a skills shortage in the UK, particularly in the areas of solar panel installation and heat pump engineering, we are investing in training and development initiatives.
Plans are currently underway to establish a second, larger training academy at our office in Daventry, alongside our existing hub in York, underscoring our dedication to fostering talent and expertise within the industry.
We are also currently recruiting for a learning and development director who will lead our training academy.
As we gear up for further expansion this year, Lucy Seal, HR Manager at Green Building Renewables, expressed confidence in our ability to attract top talent, stating, “The company has grown rapidly in the last two years in terms of staff, and we expect this to continue as we recruit the best people possible to help us reach our ambitions.”
With our sights set on achieving complete coverage of England by the end of 2024, we feel we are poised to revolutionise the renewable energy landscape.
Chris Joubert, our Merger and Acquisition Director affirmed the company’s trajectory, stating, “We are in active conversations with other companies, and we are confident that by the end of the year, we will have complete coverage of England through our nationwide local network. This will ensure everyone in the country will be able to access our trusted and highly rated services.”
As we continue to pave the way for sustainable energy solutions, our latest acquisition marks yet another milestone in our journey towards a greener, more sustainable future.
