Who is Phil Strickland?
Phil, an engineer by trade, spent the first 15 years of his career in software engineering, contributing his expertise to renowned companies such as Reuters and General Electric. His journey within GE Energy saw him rise from a Team Lead to the Operations Manager of the Software Solutions Group. Following this, Phil ventured into entrepreneurship, establishing a successful Renewable Energy business that specialised in designing, installing, and servicing domestic and commercial installations. After 13 years, the business was acquired by Green Building Renewables in March 2022.
Why did Phil join Green Building Renewables?
Despite selling his business, Phil recognised a significant opportunity to contribute to the growth and improvement of the Green Building Renewables. His vast sector experience is a vital asset to his new role in the company.
Fun Fact:
Phil was once part of the Suffolk Ski Slalom Race Team, showcasing a hidden passion for skiing.
Passions and Hobbies:
Outside work, Phil enjoys activities like golf, playing the piano, and engaging in DIY projects.

A standout achievement in Phil’s career is the creation of a Quality Management System, reflecting his commitment to ensuring excellence in operations at Green Building Renewables.
Memorable Moment:
Phil is especially proud of working with the John Peel Centre, Stowmarket to transform it into a music and arts space, incorporating sustainable technologies like Heat Pumps, Underfloor Heating, Solar PV, and Solar Thermal.

Phil is motivated by the desire to help everyone in the branches become more efficient and effective. His guiding mantra is, “Management is doing things right; leadership is doing the right thing.” Phil advises newcomers to contact their colleagues, emphasising the team’s willingness to offer support.
