How do air source heat pumps work?

Air source heat pumps work by extracting heat from the outdoor air and transferring it into a building to provide heating, hot water, and air conditioning. The process starts with the evaporator, where a refrigerant is passed over a cold coil, absorbing heat from the surrounding air.

This refrigerant is then compressed, raising its temperature and pressure, and released into a condenser, where the heat is transferred to the building’s heating and hot water systems. The cooled refrigerant is then passed through an expansion valve, which lowers its temperature and pressure, and the cycle starts over again. Air source heat pumps are highly efficient, as they use renewable energy from the air, making them a cost-effective and environmentally friendly alternative to traditional heating and cooling systems.

Go Store Self Storage

We recently had the opportunity to work with GoStore, a leading provider of self-storage solutions in the UK, to install a commercial heat pump for their office area. The client was experiencing high energy costs due to traditional heating methods, and was seeking a more sustainable and cost-effective solution. We recommended the installation of an air source heat pump, which would not only reduce their energy costs, but also contribute to a greener environment.

Working closely with the GoStore, we designed a customised solution that met their specific requirements and installed the heat pump with minimal disruption to their day-to-day operations. Since the installation, GoStore has reported significant savings on their energy bills, and the overall comfort levels in the office area have improved. Additionally, they are proud to have made a positive contribution to reducing their carbon footprint, which aligns with their commitment to sustainable business practices. We are pleased to have provided GoStore with a sustainable and cost-effective solution that meets their needs, and look forward to continuing to provide innovative solutions to our clients in the future.
