Our Group Technical Director, John Gilham, has had a busy few weeks giving his expert opinion to the media on several key subjects.

Recently, the UK Building Regulations have been updated. John was asked by Homebuilding and Renovating magazine to provide his thoughts on the new Part S regs and what the changes in EV charging installation in new builds mean for self builders and developers. He described how the new regulations as a “positive step in helping homeowners to make decisions that will help decarbonise the UK’s transport sector and make more sustainable living choices for their home and family.”

Experts from all three Efficient Building Solutions businesses provided their thoughts on what different new regulations mean for people undertaking a self build or retrofit project. Alongside John, Green Building Store founder and director Chris Herring provided insight into the new changes to Part F of the building regulations around ventilation. And QODA Consulting’s Dr Sarah Price commented on the changes to Part L, which covers the conservation of fuel and power in building new homes in England.

John was also featured in last weekend’s Yorkshire Post where he provided readers with a guide to solar panels and solar battery storage and how they can capture the sun’s energy to power their homes.

Developing our expertise to enable our team to stay at the forefront of the industry and making sure we share our knowledge with customers, renewables professionals and the public is key to how we work at Green Building Renewables. As we build our network of local renewable energy experts, it’s essential that we provide people with accurate information on the subjects affecting the renewable technology and energy industry. It’s fantastic to know that our opinions and expert thought are valued by the media to educate their readership on critical issues and topics.
